“Mouse in the House” is a classic narrative minor blues. Frank's killer trombone solo, and my smoking guitar solo add to story line. The horn line very modal.

Mouse in my House danny petroni@2014

There’s a mouse in my house
My baby says there a mouse in my house
There’s a mouse in my house
Drinking all my beer
I gotta funny feeling something’s wrong in here

I called the bugman about a quarter till 2
I stooped by the crib, cause I didn’t know what else to do
Heard some scratching, heard some scratching
Heard some scratching at my baby’s door
I put out my pistol, and put three caps into Uncle George

Solo - Trombone

I stood in front of the Judge he gave me 20 years
Cause of the things I did, I felt a small tear
Your honor, honor how could you know ,ya weren’t there
I gotta funny feeling something’s wrong in here

I sat in my jail cell and from the corner of my eye
I had seen a tiny mouse scurry on by
The Warren come a running with the keys in his hands
Warden, Warden, Warden why are setting me free
Cause there a mouse in my house drinking all my beer.

The Blue Project Asbury Park, New Jersey

The Blue Project, Danny Petroni band and its self-titled first release, began as a reaction to hurricane Sandy. Work for Jersey Shore musicians was sparse after Sandy’s devastation: “Gigs cancelled, venues damaged, all music productions stopped in the immediate area.” Petroni’s idea was to create some work for local musicians with a locally produced blues record using his own original compositions ... more
